Garter stitch wrap

Heirloom Celtic on 5mm needles

The start

I love the idea of this large square wrap but I realise it is a long term project.  The plan is to have it finished by the end of 2009.

I’m currently onto the 4th ball and still on target for a square of 125cm

I will know the preblocking size after I have completed the first quarter.

It is made by making 4 triangles and then casting off using a 3 needle cast off leaving one corner open.

March 2010.  I started the second triangle but made a mistake with the centre increases meaning that the centre line went off at an angle.  So ripped it out and ready to start the second piece again.

2011:  OK, lets get realistic here, it took how long to make one triangle?  Change of plan:  It’s a shawl and it’s getting a celtic cable to finish it!

  1. only the non-increase row on the first piece to go. I’m getting somewhere.

  2. One quarter finished. Barely started the second. My goal to complete this in 12 months is not going to happen. Oh well maybe next year.
