Basic shawl design

I was asked the other day if I would sell the pattern for my shawl.  The person looked confused when I said it was just a basic garter stitch shawl with an edge on it.  So I thought I would write up my 2 basic shawl designs.

These are very basic; change the stitch, change the increase method, add some lace or cables or simply use a spectacular yarn. The first one starts at the point and finishes at the top, the second starts at the top and makes V shaped rows finishing at the hem.

Bottom up.

Finish the back of the neck by stitching the first 2 stitches to the last 2 stitches in the first row.
